Besides the occasional blemish from greasy chicken or Korean-Chinese food(or maybe a bit of occasional stress?), my skin has never been better here. I far from fondly remember the bitterly cold and brutal Canadian winters that left my face dry and flaky - never had to use cream here - guess there are both advantages and disadvantages to the high humidity. I've been fairly fortunate to be pretty healthy and ailment-free here. Just be careful what you eat and drink and stay away from sick people and you'll probably be fine. Wash your hands a lot too. Even if the water's not hot, it's better than nothing.

I find the air-conditioning on the subway and busses tends to make me sick pretty quickly. Especially at this time of the year, it's not really hot out, but they turn in on because of the humidity. I find my eyes start to burn, and I get a head cold right away. I don't know if I am allergic to something or if it's just normal. Perhaps the aircons here help to spread germs uniformly around the bus or subway........? Shocked

Anyway, fall in Korea and I always seem to start coming down with head colds.....which can easily lead to worse things if I am not careful.

Drinking hot liquids does seem to help though. Hot citron tea (Yu ja cha)
or Ginger tea (seng gang cha) are great.

Green tea is also a helpful immune booster as well as ginseng tea (insam cha).

Yep, I think it's a case of your body not used to it's new environment. I've been here for four years - caught so many colds at first BUT my lifelong sinus problems went away. Now, my body has got into the swing - i don't get the colds but the sinus problem has returned! Back to normal.
