Well cause if the US doesn't help Musharif then he will be overthrown. Musharif is a very moderate and actually a fairly decent and honest leader.
It would be nicer if he had more power but he is about as good as the US is going to get. |

In the long run, they are unlikely to hold on to power and will probably be swept away by an Islamic uprising, putting clerics in charge. Considering this as a distinct probability, why do you continue with the folly of aiding such nations, both economically and militarily? |
with the exception of the Taliban, clerics have never run a sunni country. Well not since Mohammed's era. And I'd venture many would argue the Taliban did not consist of clerics, but mainly fundies with rudementary knowledge of Islam.
Point being while a more religous authority might become the Pakistani gov't, I'd say the odds of any "clerics" being in control are rather low. |

Operation North woods didn't kill anyone , in fact it never happened. Nor was anyone to be killed.
Could have also been Jeff Rense and his goons plus some of the other supporters from various conspiracy sites. I mean they do stand to benefit. |

a guy i know had a tattoo of burning planes over new york city on his back. he got it in about 1994.
he soon joined a band that toured a lot and crossed the border in to the US fairly often.
i think he has since gotten that mural covered up... |
