Like JB said, on my frequent trips to SE Asia I buy 5 or six cans of AXE or LYNX. You can settle for the overpriced Nivea spray ons here which smell like sheep dip, or go find a black market store and get those Old Spice sticks which are no good in the summer. |

There are two places where I have been able to find it.
If you go to Namdaemun Market, there is a table with foreign products on it and they have a number of different brands of deodorant. The table moves around, so you have to wander around until you find it. Sometimes it won't even be there...it's sort of hit and miss.
You can also get deodorant in the so-called "black market" in Songtan. It is an area similar to Itaewon beside a big U-S army base. It's located south of Suwon. There are all kinds of foreign products there. I think they purchase their goods from the miltary guys who get it on the base. The prices are reasonable...4,000 to 5,000 Won per stick.
You can get to Songtan by taking express bus #20 from Nambu Bus Terminal, which is close to Seoul National University and is on a subway line. The bus takes about 45 minutes. Songtan is definitely worth checking out...especially since all the shop owners in that area speak English.
When you get to Songtan, come out of the parking lot, turn right and walk up and over the hill. At the end of the road, you'll see the army base on the left and all the English-speaking shops are on your right. You can also get in a cab and ask them to take you to "the main gate." |

I believe Lush has it now -- a few stores were out of stock for a while, then I found one at their Bundang store. |

Songtan is the best place i've found for it.
It's wierd that they don't have it here in Korea. Anyone know why not?
I've also found it at Kim's Club, the grocery store, but it was very small and expensive. |

Apparently it's because kimchi has special properties that prevents body odour. So, I guess if you eat lots of kimchi you won't need deodorant.
I think most Koreans would also have you believe that it's because they're higher on the evolutionary chain than we are...so they don't stink.
There must be something to it...it doesn't smell or anything around here. It's quite the opposite in Russia...you have to plug your nose on the subway in Moscow. They obviously don't use deodorant there. |

Go to small, individual cosmetic stores - they sell them. |

Is this post really from 2005? I'd swear it was a post from 2003 bumped. You can get deoderant and antiperspirant at almost any big chain store like Lottemart, Carrefour, Olive & Young, etc. The problem is it's packaged differently and unlike Walmart back home there aren't 8 shelves of it. The three varieties are kept in little corner of the shelf under the eyebrow tweezers and crap.
It's pretty expensive still but prices are coming down. |

if you go to the small cosmetic store, you should be able to find some. I know you can at technomart and in itaewon as well. It might cost more, but I rather pay the money and use the space in my suitcase for something else. |

They're a superior, beautiful race.
It does take a while to find deodorant at first but I found some at Emart for 8k. Dreadfully expensive for BO-basher I know but you'll just have to either explore other possibilities, which I couldn't be bothered doing, or put up with it. |

Go to grocerymall.net (it's in English) and order online. It usually takes one day for delivery.
Isn't it red meat and dairy products that make BO? |
