Hear hear. The only straight bar in Itaewon I even remotely like is Seoul Pub.
Oddly enough the only places in Itaewon I enjoy going anymore is a couple of the places on Homo Hill. (Sorry, I don't remember the names of which ones. The one with the outdoor porch is nice.) They're a lot quiter, and the waiters and clientele are almost always friendly and respectable. Sometimes they're too friendly. Guys, if you go, make sure you control your kneejerk reaction if the waiter grabs your ass. Let him know you're straight and he won't do it again. I got a little bit abrupt with one out of startlement once and felt superbad about it. Fortunately no one was badly hurt and we both apologized and got along fine after that.
One other caveat. The guys there look at you funny when you offer to hook them up with a pretty girl, as a certain raving drunk we'll just call JJ did once. After the guy left someone gently reminded him "It's a gay bar you F-ing idiot. What were you thinking."
Hee hee, the memories.
Anyway, I'd say the worst I've actually spent time in was the UN. Kings Club isn't much better. |

the only time ITAEWON will become cool is when the koreans take it over and it becomes a korean area...
as of now its still majority foreigners, shopping stores,
soon as it becomes 90% koreans and 10% foreigners then we have a cool place..
as of now.. its a bathroom that I will only piss in when I am busting!!
man when will seoul look at tokyo for ideas!!!
itaewon has been a dump for 50 years!! and it will be for another 50! |
