Hi, I'm new here and I'm looking for a job in Korea, what a surprise!

Does anyone have any information about a school called the EG School? Or POLY Returnee Education? Those are two that I'm looking into right now. Any help is appreciated!

Have a good day!

not good, unless they changed that wacked out director down there. I've had a few run ins with her, (bundang branch).

I interviewed with EG in Kangnam last year. I met with a Mr. Jung (the owner) and some other lady. Apparently, either the recruiter didn't inform him I was coming, or he just didn't like me because I seemed to know so much about Korea for just being on a vacation there. We never got to finish the tour of the school, because I was told by a gal working there that Mr. Jung thought I was a spy from another Hagwon. He seemed very paranoid about me. I didn't get a good feeling because of this, and was never offered a job anyway. The school did seem well-ordered, however I was worried perhaps TOO ordered, if you catch my drift. One thing I've learned in one year of teaching -- your relationship with your boss is VERY important. VERY.

A friend recently almost started working there (EG), but last I heard she took another job because they were constantly changing things on the contract as they negotiated.

Oh, by the way, she almost worked for POLY too, but didn't. I think she was afraid that POLY would be too many hours or too much work. I've heard that they really are a strong school for actually "teaching". Depends on what you are looking for, I guess. If you are someone with an actual teaching degree, I'd take a good hard look at POLY.

Circumstantial stuff at best, but just some general comments. For all I know, they could actually be OK too -- just trying to be balanced.
