They've only been back together for a week, give them time to gel.

Two more friendlies on tap in Korea next month:

16-11-2005 Serbia-Montenegro
12-11-2005 Sweden

I'd sure like to see Norway come in and play one.

Any idea what city/stadium the games will be played?

Anyone know where to buy a "Korea Team Fighting" shirt?

I think they will have bigger fish to fry in the coming month.

Euro playoff round:

Norway v.s Czech Republic

Switzerland v.s Turkey

Spain v.s Slovakia

All the World Cups have so far been won by only 7 nations. So, only a miracle will make Korea win. I think it will be an interesting World Cup, as most of the strongest teams are through.

My guess is that Holland or Italy will win the World Cup.

Friendly Schedules Set for National Team Footballers

By Kim Hyun-cheol
Staff Reporter

South Korea will have nine matches during its overseas training period slated for early next year, the Korea Football Association (KFA) announced Friday.
Some changes took place from its original schedule, which was introduced by coach Dick Advocaat on Tuesday, as the squad will play Greece, Finland and Costa Rica instead of Russia and Honduras.

In the program starting on Jan. 15, South Korea will open up its series of international matches with the United Arab Emirates on Jan. 18 before moving to Saudi Arabia to take part in an invitational tournament to square off with the two European countries. Under an agreement between the countries, South Korea will not have a match with the hosts and directly fly to Hong Kong to compete in the Karlsberg Cup tournament.

It will meet Croatia in the opening match of the four-country event. The next match will be decided by its result and also the outcome of the other match between Denmark and Hong Kong.

South Korea then flies to the United States to have another string of friendlies. Starting with an unofficial match with the Americans on Feb. 4, it will meet Los Angeles Galaxy, an American local pro league side, four days later. Costa Rica and Mexico are also supposed to have friendlies with South Korea on Feb. 11 and 15 respectively.

There is still one more match to go before they come back home, as they have to have an away match for the Asian Cup qualification on Feb. 22, but who they will play and where will be determined by the draw scheduled for Jan. 4.

If the US wins that could present a problem. Better bring along a Canadian flag to stick on my back just in case.

Korea would be doing great if they make it to the second round.

They have to be realisitic, no home field and massive crowd advantage here, new coach.

I intend to watch the games for sure and hope for them they make it to the second round (thats a realistic goal).

If they get knocked out by a western team...what difference will it make? They got knocked out by Germany last time round and there were no anti-German riots....

I watched the US-ROK game in a bar last time in Busan. the crowd was about 50-50 Korean / western and no fights broke out, no riots, no abuse. After the game ended, the party rolled on with most people enjoying themselves.

Were Koreans proud of their team? You bet your butt they were and why not?

I think some on here are blowing this way out of proportion.

Where might one find one of those "be the reds" t-shirts?
Always wanted one, never been able to find one (well, never really looked very hard either).

True but had the US won...the crowd would not have burned US flags.....

Of course you can always find something negative and wrong if you keep looking for it...so..if the US had won vs the ROK in 2002 then, for sure, all the waeguks in that bar would have been stoned, lynched and put to the rack.

Better Alias?
