By girlfriends great and her level on english is not bad. However, since it's not her primary language, she is prone to the occasional grammar miscue, which I sometimes find hilarious.

Here are some examples;

Sometimes when she is very thankful about something she says;
"Thank you for me"

Or she gets her "he" and "she" mixed up which can really mess up the point she is trying to make.

But the funniest one happened a few nights ago when she said lets try a "96"
I was able to withhold my laughter based on the situation, but I laughed my ass off the next morning.

I taught my girlfriend the phrase "I have good news and bad news".

A few weeks later I get an email with the subject line "good new and bad new". When I opened it, sure enough, there was only one piece of good news and one piece of bad news.

I've noticed this among even Koreans with quite excellent English (excellent for having not really lived abroad). It confuses the hell out of me too.

I took a couple of my Korean co-workers out to eat for lunch. On the way back to the hogwon one of them turned to me to thank me for the meal and said:
"Thanks for eating me out"
As delicatly as I could I explained, and laughed.
If only.

On a first date, just after "first date sex", the girl said "how much do you love me?"

How can I quantify that?

Where are you from?

In my Western Canadian upbringing that was an entirely natural question. And in the perfect context (I've had Canadian girlfriends ask the same question in the same context, though usually after a few more dates than that).

Answer: "This much" (accompanied by physical gesture of arms spread wide as if hugging a piano, or apart like picking up a t.v. or a two-finger mock measurement of the length of a pencil.)

Sure, but for a first date I thought it to be a bit odd. BTW I answered: "I love you a lot". I'm sure that's the right answer.

My wife (Indonesian) is pretty good with her English, having studied in Australia for 2 years, but still gives the he/she thing a good mix up every now and again. Its largely a result of there being no gendered pronouns in Bahasa Indonesia.

I met a girl at a Starbucks who gave me her email address and phone number, and then said, "Please touch me."

had one of my female university students write on her exam "would you mind riding me?" The correct answer was "would you mind giving me a ride?", but given the right context, that sentence would have been just fine.
