If you're in the Seoul area you should go see some English-subtitled Korean movies this weekend...they're FREE!
Four films (Oasis, Marrying the Mafia, Chihwaseon, and Conduct Zero) will be shown at KOFIC (Korean Film Commission) http://www.kofic.or.kr/english/index.asp# on both Saturday and Sunday. You can see the schedule by clicking on the below link.

A map and directions to KOFIC http://www.kofic.or.kr/english/popup/03_0305/location.html can help you get there.
I have enjoyed a few films here over the past few months. Unfortunately I am usually one of a dozen or less people in the theatre. So get off the computer, grab your umbrella, and see some movies this weekend!

Hey ...
I'm not **quite** sure where Ulsan is, but I do know in Busan they have an International Film Festival in September or October every year. That's a lot better than seeing only 4 Korean movies, isn't it?
I need to check that out this year...was I bummed when I realized I had missed it last year!

It'll be nice when they finally realize that all the foreigners in Korea don't live in Seoul |
It's funny how you automatically assume it is "they" (referring to Koreans of course) that are the ones who somehow did something wrong like, god forbid, "not realizing" that there are foreigners outside of Seoul.
Maybe they just want to show them in Seoul? Maybe that is the only venue they can get?
I see many times on this board that when something in Korea does not go to someone's liking it is "their" fault. I wanted to watch Hulk last weekend but the movie theatre was 30 minutes away from my house! I didn't blame America for that. |

OK I think I am beguining to understand stand you more now AmusedIndeed.
It is a good point. Seoul is where most of the tourists are, most of the international businessmen are etc...course something like this will happen in Seoul. In Australia when I was living in Perth I had to fly to Melbourne to see Plant and Page in Concert and Sydney to see the Olympics (OK the Sydney thing doesn't really relate.)
I live in Busan now. How many things do I miss because I don't live in Seoul? Heaps. Whose fault is it? No ones really, it just is. |

We're planning to go to the Sunday screening of Chihwaseon. I was sorry to have missed it a couple months ago. It has a pretty cool website: http://www.chihwaseon.com/ |
