I've probably asked this before but ...
Does anyone know where I can get a good photo database ???
I came across a cool free professional photo database a couple of weeks ago and I finally got around to using it the other day, only to find that I've lost it
Anyone know a good one ?? Pls ?? |

Are you talking about photohosting or about a script for your webpage to put up a gallery. Either way, google is a great tool to find one that suits your needs.
For a webpage gallery, try Coppermine Galleries which is a PHP script like the one that runs these forums. If you just want to display your pictures, you can do so on Yahoo!, photobucket.com, and a plethora of other gallery/pic hosting sites. |

thanks jazblanc, but what I'm actually looking for is a photo gallery of pictures I can use in my webpage design.
I'm particularly interested in pictures of models and human form. |

flickr.com
pbase.com
It's rude to rip off people's photos without giving proper credit though |

The people on the other site will tell you that Blake likes his photobucket accounts... |

thanks guys,
the problem with the flickr and photobuket route is twofold
1) the photo's aren't professional and so don't come out right
2) can't get permission to use them even if they were
I've done a bit of searching though and the best I've come up with are
www.istockphoto.com ... cheap
http://www.sxc.hu/ .... free and not bad !
if I find anymore I'll post them as well
... cheers |

I think by definition professional photos are ones you'll have to pay for. Surprised you didn't find anything on flickr though, their database is enormous. |

ya, flickr has loads of photos alright - but from what I saw you'd have to spend ages looking through them to come up with something of sufficient quality.
At the moment I'm just putting together a few sites in my spare time. If I was planning on using a photo in a commercial setting I wouldn't mind paying for it ... but until then I'm just gonna stick to with free ones. |

Then use Coppermine. It is free, easy to install and looks and works beautifully. |
