21 S. Korean abductees, POWs still alive in N.K.
The Ministry of Unification confirmed yesterday that 21 South Korean abductees and prisoners of war are still alive in the North.... Seoul has estimated that 542 POWs are alive in the North, and that 485 civilians have been taken to the North since the end of Korean War.

The question remains, "Are they really prisoners or defectors?" |

A South Korean woman's emotion-charged open letter appealing to North Korean leader Kim Jong-il to return her father abducted 18 years ago has focused fresh attention to his fate and that of more than 400 other South Koreans believed to be in the North against their will. |
Seoul gets away with its soft policy because too many South Korean citizens refuse to get angry with the North. Any candlelight vigils for these people lately? How about college students violently protesting the murder of South Korean soldiers in 2002? |

Spot on. Geez even a few months ago some minister working with NK refugees in China was kidnapped by NK. What was Seoul's response? Sweet dick all.
But the Japanese start making kimchi and they go SCREAMING to the UN... |
