|
|
I know I'm in for a battering when I hear "Rich and Poor". What they really mean are the evil rich and the people that are treated poorly by the evil rich. Modern socialists talk this way.
My outlook has compassion for the poor but I also wanted to interject "The People That Can Hold a Job and The Stupid". I think many poor people are dumb as wood and not just a few individuals but whole collections of people.
Whats the best way to mention that in public? Pakistan is a miserable and backward place. I'm not vertain wht they do there but its not white collar work. They don't seem interested in making money. Thats not wrong but when the earthquakes hit, they are left homeless and then they complain. I want to tell them to shut up. They just have kids cause the church tells them too and their ego/culture demands they demonstrate their sperm is manly so they have many children who in turn starve. After that comes the accusations. I'm tired of that.

That goes for people in the west as well.
Re: the earthquake and subsequent avalanches: -whats even stupider is that the people cut down all the protective forest and trees on the mountain slopes, accentuating the impact of the disaster. Just like the mudslides in Mexico too. Environmental degradation= more dangerous than earthquakes.

People rely too much on government instead of themselves...it's much easier than getting off your lazy, fat arse and bettering your life....(in America, at least)
People are poor in America because of bad habits and bad decisions...people in Pakistan and other 3rd world nations are poor because of....their governments and a whole host of reasons...I think the cards are stacked against them...I have compassion for them but not for the American welfare whores... |

What a thoughtful and enlightening thread.
I see where you are talking about the rich and the poor, but I really don't see anything about "thinking"- maybe you should edit the title? |

Now where in Pakistan have you been to exactly? Peshawar isn't Lahore, which isn't Karachi.
If you're strictly refering to Kashmir, eh, not too familiar with the whole division of that part of the world are you?
Yes, having too many kids is an issue in various parts of the Muslim world, I agree. That being said, I doubt it describes every region of Pakistan.
Don't seem interested in making money. Who do you think makes the Arabian peninsula work? If it weren't for pakistanis (and fellow south asians) saudi arabia, the UAE, etc. would shut down before you can say "Allah akhbar." |

No, I think its them. I don't subscribe to large groups of people being held back by a smaller group of people. Its more haplessness. Haplessness = ineffectiveness, ineffectiveness = lazy.
I don't think Mexicans are held back by the gov't, elites etc. I think they are just lazy or just otherwise ineffective.

Paks are on the penninsula becuase they need to be. If it were not them, Philippinos or someone else would be there working and being abused.
I grew up as a Polish-German American. I got both philosophies, but I've decided one is better. That would be the German one. Poles look for work, Germans make jobs. Looking for work is a long term bad idea. looking for business has much brighter prospects.
I used to chide my mother about garbage collection, she would tell me that garbage collection is a good job. It's not. I have respect for an honest man doing honest work but glorifying unskilled labor for the sake politically correct appearances is stupid. My father would pull me to the side and say garbage work is fine as long as you own the company.
Poor people and children is a good topic. Do you think having a child entitles you to other people's money? |

do you have any grasp on governments?? Do you know how hard it is to start a business in many 3rd world countries?? Do you think you can just open up a store w/out some gov't official getting his cut?? Why don't you read something about economic development before making dumb ass stereotypes.
Mexicans are lazy? Yes, that's why millions come to America to work crappy jobs that pay less than minimum wage. Same with fillipinos going to all parts of the globe to support families back home. And of course all those Pakistanis that you love the most.

Didn't you say they're just making babies and producing large families? Too lazy to do anything else? Which one is it?? |

Yes, I have 10 plus years in the USA government. Yes, I have investigated starting businesses in third world nations. Its not impossible.

Yes, I'm sorry. They are lazy, corrupt and not smart.
Looking for work = lazy. Looking for business = industriousness. Mexicans look for work. They are cattle that need to hereded. They do not think on their own. Mexicans come for la pi~nata, that is a whole range of free socail services. Work is work, profit maximimization is profit maximumization. There is work in Mexico but it doesn't pay well or at all. Mexicans come to work because they need to, not because they want to.
Latin America is hopeless due to the culture. Its a culture of crippling corruption. I used to think that replacing one bad government would help but when the qll people are equally corrupt, its just a game of musical chairs. |

I have been working here two plus years. If you are going down the track where you try to get me to admit I'm lazy, you've won. I have not been entirely happy with my accomplishments here. I have a laurel in that I was previously enriched by something else but other than that, I have been passive here. |
