i honestly think the king of gwangju was - The Lemon - but he'd never admit to it

we have way hi-jacked this thread now, so i may as well keep it going..

i have had a few lengthy pm chats with him and he came across as a reasonable fellow..

people dumped on him a lot, including me, but i/we only saw the mod and not the person..

but he would never fess up to the 'king' although he was here for quite some time.. it seemed pretty obvious

just what gives you the right to make these claims?
who does actually have the right to claim a film is the best ever?

because, IN MY OPINION Terminator 2 was the best action movie ever

those were opinions.

that was a sentence.

is that obvious enough for you?

sorry mate, i didn't see the word opinion in there anywhere..

may be petty, but it's just on 2am and i'm in the mood for clarity..

I've been shot. is a sentence... 911 would race to the scene
I've been shot, but it was in the hand by a bb gun. is a sentence, too. only 911 would laugh at you and hang up.

just because you wrote a sentence doesn't mean it explains everything.

says you.. and exactly who are you to say that?

[sheesh]

time to go for a beer, maybe the things that should be obvious enough for me, will be, when i return.

Nope, they're two entirely different people, living about 11,000 KM apart.

My favorites,
Operation Petticoat Tony Curtis and Cary Grant on a sub w/ loads of pretty nurses.
Purgatory a TNT made movie, but surprisingly good western where the small town is actually Purgatory. Great f***in' shoot out.
Slapshot do I need to say why this is fun to watch?
Field of Dreams Yeah, it's corny, but great bits with James Earl Jones and Burt Lancaster
Silverado Love the soundtrack and the shootouts
Magnificent 7 again, great shootouts, great soundtrack. What's with Japanese movies that they make great westerns?

There were a lot of movies that were already mentioned but had to add my two cents.
High Fidelity don't like him normally, but Jack Black was great in it.
Flash Gordon very campy, but great soundtrack. "Flash! Gooordon!"
Once apon a Time in the West that was a nasty scene where the young boy has to hold up his father or else the guy hangs.

Almost forgot The Cowboys an old western where John Wayne takes a young group of boys on a cattle drive and is killed halfway through by bad guys. Again great sound track

1- orson wells' othello (everybody loves a classic)

2- swept away on a hot august night (a rare fellini collaboration must see)

3- full meat jacket (kubrick at his best)

4- spinal tap (hilarious comedy!)

5- pink floyd in pompei (this 1 would had made #3 even #2 if the ugly schmucks in the band would had kept their shirts on!)

1. LA HAINE (1995) Black and white French film about the ghettos in Paris.

2. FALLEN ANGELS (1995) Wong Kar-Wai, say no more.

3. PERFECT BLUE (1997) Japanese anime that answers the question "What would a David Lynch/Brian De Palma animated collaboration look like?"

4. NO COMMENT (2002) The only truly funny flat-out Korean comedy I have ever seen.

5. LES MISERABLES (1995) French version staring Jean-Paul Belmondo in three different roles, set during WW2.
