Can anyone give me aany advice about how to have a good phone interview? What are they looking for? What should I do? I am worried that I will speak too fast and then they will not want to hire me.

Chances are, the 'interview' will be to ascertain whether or not:
you are indeed breathing;
you can obtain sealed transcripts;
you can be understood by the interviewer; and,
you can understand Konglish.

The company already has my transcripts and I am being interviewed by a Canadian not a Korean. The interview is at 9AM tomorrow.

In that case, learn a few buzz words, 'formulate' your educational philosophy (if you don't already have one) and sound enthusiastic! Also, as a memory jog: make notes on any experience you have had working with children/teens; and any time you have spent living in a foreign country.

Well it will not be hard to remember all the experience I have had abroad since I go abroad so often. I was in China this summer and Germany before that. I can't remember the last time I spend more than 6 straight months in the U.S.

Are you being interviewed by the recruiter or by a Canadian at the school?

I think that I am being interviewed by the Canadian recruiter. Unless the person also goes to Korea to run the camp. I doubt it but I am not 100 percent certain.

If its the recruiter then you dont need to worry too much. Thre usually just want to talk about your preferences for placement and want to make sure you can actually speak english!

If its with the school, then prepare some questions. Make sure you DONT ask about money and vacation time at the start - doesnt make a good impression. They'll probably want to know about your experience, quals, and why you are suited to the job. If you have no formal experience, then you could mention life experience that is relevant ie babysitting (relating to children), sports coach or captain (leadership, encouragment, working with people of different levels, team work etc), tutoring and so on.

I talked to the recruiter yesterday. It went Ok. The only problem is that the recruiter said she would let me know this afternoon but she did not. I think that may be a bad sign. What should I think? I thought that I was going to be contact no matter what the outcome was. I thought she would said yes we will offer you a job or no we are not going to offer you a job at this time.

With recruiters, you could tell them that you are a crack addict and they would still find you a job if your voice and accent were clear and your picture looked nice.

Maybe they don't feel my accent is clear. But I am not sure why that matters. In a classroom of children you have to seperate everyword and repeat things anyways. It is even more silly when an employer wants a North American accent or a British accent. I doubt that 8 year old children are going to pick up the difference.

They do notice the difference.... my students couldnt understand a word I said when I first arrived. Now they understand me and just think my pronunciation is funny.
