You know the research says the opposite. Those who stay in long term relationships have better sexual relationships.

Personally, (before I was a Christian) the best sex I had was always with those who I cared for the most. Sex is deeply tied to intimacy and isn't meant to be a sock it, rock it, see ya later good time.

Now that I am married, sex with my wife is much better than I have ever had. One of the greatest rewards of this life is learning how to love. Very Happy

Psychologist Edward Donnerstein (University of Wisconsin) found that brief exposure to violent forms of pornography can lead to anti-social attitudes and behavior. Male viewers tend to be more aggressive towards women, less responsive to pain and suffering of rape victims, and more willing to accept various myths about rape.1

"Can" not "will". Watch those qualifiers.

Also, it was "prolonged exposure to violence", not brief. And he was concerned with the effects on children. Basically, he's being misrepresented as an anti-porn crusader here.

Quote:
These researchers also found that massive exposure to pornography encourages a desire for increasingly deviant materials which involve violence, like sadomasochism and rape.3

yet this doesn't prove that it will cause the viewer to commit these acts.

Quote:
Researcher Victor Cline (University of Utah) has documented in his research how men become addicted to pornographic materials, begin to desire more explicit or deviant material, and end up acting out what they have seen.5

Amazing how a Later Day Saints follower would claim such a thing while downplaying the role of sexual abuse he also mentions in the same sentence. He also cites masturbation as a cause of rape. Bascially, a moral cursader misleading people.

Quote:
According to Charles Keating of Citizens for Decency Through Law, research reveals that 77 percent of child molesters of boys and 87 percent of child molesters of girls admitted imitating the sexual behavior they had seen modeled in pornography.

This is the fraud-committing Charles Keating, right? Very trustworthy source there

Quote:
Sociologists Murray Straus and Larry Baron (University of New Hampshire) found that rape rates are highest in states which have high sales of sex magazines and lax enforcement of pornography laws.6

Look up "Causal Fallacies"

Quote:
Michigan state police detective Darrell Pope found that of the 38,000 sexual assault cases in Michigan (1956-1979), in 41 percent of the cases pornographic material was viewed just prior to or during the crime. This agrees with research done by psychotherapist David Scott who found that "half the rapists studied used pornography to arouse themselves immediately prior to seeking out a victim."

Look up "Causal Fallacies"

Quote:
The Final Report of the 1986 Attorney General's Commission on Pornography lists a full chapter of testimony (197-223) from victims whose assailants had previously viewed pornographic materials.

Look up "Causal Fallacies"

Quote:
The Facts on Pornography

A day-care director, now serving three years for three counts of first-degree sexual assault, confessed the he had "started picking up pornographic materials occasionally, going to bookstores ... no one knew, not even my wife ... now I do recognize fully the shocking facts about pornography and how it will draw you into its clutches away from God into sinful fantasies ..."

Look up "Anecdotal evidence" :

Quote:
* Nearly 900 theaters show X-rated films and more than 15,000 "adult" bookstores and video stores offer pornographic material, outnumbering McDonald's restaurants in the U.S. by a margin of at least three to one.

Somewhat misleading, yet not supporting the claim.

Quote:
* Approximately 70% of the pornographic magazines sold eventually end up in the hands of minors.

* About 1.2 million children are annually exploited through child pornography and prostitution.7

So, according to the logic given so far, the kids who found dad's Playboy ran out an became prostitutes and kiddy porn-stars

Listen. It's fine that you have beliefs, but you keep coming on here misrepresenting your information, or using material not related to the topic at hand. I dislike your consistant dishonesty in the name of a cause.

Hey BS, glad you have come back.

You know if it was one "study" on research, I would give you credit, but it isn't.

Debate over the issue of pornography often starts with the assumption that it is harmful. In fact the US Attorney General's Commission on Pornography (Meese Report -1986) and the Surgeon General's workshop on Pornography and Public Health have determined that pornography is harmful. This document is devoted to exploring some of the available research data that was used to come to this conclusion.

http://www.netspeed.com.au/ttguy/refs2.htm

Are you going to debate against the surgeon general? Or that we can't trust in science?

Because if you don't, I can give you bible verses to support the science. Cool

You know what I feel? I feel like you are a good guy(if you are a guy) who is immensely popular, but doesn't like being convicted of truth. Being a good guy doesn't cut it BS, it is about walking in the righteousness of Christ.

Look up convicted. Smile

With 5 Eagles you can not do anyrthing but encourage him. What I mean is; if you disagree with him it is because you are a heathen, pagan, sinful, sinner, who is in darkness and does not know better and is condemned to an eternity in the Fires of Hell, unless you come around to his way of thinking and his interpretation of the Bible.

If you say bad things to him; it will encourage him and then he can feel good about being persecuted for Christ's sake.

It is all circular. Believe everything in the Bible because God wrote the Bible and believe in God because it is in the Bible.

But quite honestly, in Jesus's day He spent he basically only condemned the religious folk. The hated tax collector and prostitutes and drunkards etc. seemed to warm up to Jesus...Jesus did not go around and condemn, condemn, condemn. he talked and demonstrated His love by healing, forgiving and loving people. All I have seen on here from % Eagles is condemnation of people. He starts a thread that is certainly going to stir up things. I can imagine what they do in his church. I am sure from the pulpit it is all about how horrible the sinners are and how right the people in that church are. The more they are focused on the sin and unrighteousness of you and me, the more righteous they feel. Now, that is exactly what the Pharisees of scripture did. They patted themselves on the back for fasting twice and week and for tithing. Jesus saw right through that charade of self-righteousness.

Jesus looked directly into people's hearts and met their deepest needs. he was not out to condemn the world. He stated:

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from the prisoners

He could easily have spent all His time berating and condemning. Nope-he came with Good News and He walked the walk. It was not justn all words of condemnetion like I have seen lately on these forums.

It is always easier to criticise and when the the the main entre, I would suggest that it is evidence of walking in the flesh rather than in the spirit.

Not looking at porn does not change a heart. Going to church doesn't either. The Kingdom is within. It is not a list of do's and don'ts. What do you think the entire book of Galatians is about.

Confused

Ummm, first of all, I started a few threads where people didn't respond. One on romance and a few others. What people choose to read and talk on are their own choice. As for your thoughts on condemnation, is romance and God's love not good enough for you?

Second,
Quote:

How do you know? Do you know me? You have never pm me to try to get to know me.

Quote:

I have never said that, only you. Actually, I have said things quite contrary to that.

Jesus looked directly into people's hearts and met their deepest needs. he was not out to condemn the world. He stated:

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from the prisoners

This I agree on. Smile

You seem to know others quite well, brother, without having met them. Why can't we know you too? AH, yes, that shoe doesn't fit too well on the other foot. There might be a very good reason why no one has PM'ed you. And I'll bet that reason has nothing at all to do with your religion.

I've decided the squiggly porn on the channels I don't get is OK because if I can't see it, it isn't really there. Besides, the soundtrack could turn me into a local hero! Twisted Evil Rolling Eyes

Pornograhpy is Destructive.
To all those involved.
The desire of good men is conscripted when they fruitlessly lie to themseleves and are saddened by the plight of statlets, that they may be saviuor of such god damned lives, but in turn fall prey to the deciption and total subtle lie of the beast-self destruction.

..and on the surface it such a beautiful thing.

Sound like a grand idea.

There is one thing that Korean and Japanese porn have in common. They both have women who always moan like they're in constant pain. Must be a turn on for Asian guys. Confused

Well I'm not Asian and it's a turn on for me. Does that honestly sound like pain to you?

What else can we say about Japanese porn? Tentacle rape. Weird and funny.
