I'll just add on to the growing number of threads like this...

Not saying I'm sticking around Korea when I finish my contract at the end of the year, but if I do decide to come back after bumming around I'm thinking Busan may be a nice change of pace from Seoul and it's satellites.

Anyone got some info?

Yeah. Busan's nice. Expect lower rent and slightly less salary (give or take)... Not much to do here. I definately miss the black-market stores of Itaewon and the club nights of Hongdae. But there's a few decent foreign-frequented bars here... and the weather's a bit better. Though the subway can get damn crowded during rush hour, though a bit better than Line 1 or 2 in Seoul.

Oh yeah and less foreigners and less hogwans, so expect to be a skilled negotiator and not get your promised holidays. During my last contract, I had 1 holiday and 1 sick day... thank god one of the other teachers was happy for the overtime and the adult students weren't too pissed... And expect to look a bit harder for the work, since hogwans aren't as numerous here...
