3 today, but when I'm at work it goes like this
1. the dunny
2. the bar
3. the train or car
4. the bus
5. at my desk at work
6. in class
7. lunch room
8. the stone slab outside for smokies
9. the pub
10. the couch back home
11. the din-din table
12. the internet recliner
13. sometimes the beach (most days in summer)
14. the patio deckchairs for smokies and things
I feel a case of giantarsis coming on. Thank Buddha for summer and feet that go.
(post a pic or two of chairs you couldn't live without) |

I'll put up a pic later when I get home, but the only chair I literally couldn't live without isn't one of the ones I'd want to take a photo of. (They all look pretty much the same anyway.) |

I sit in one chair for 8 hours. Fabulous for the waistline!
I sit in 3 chairs, on 1 sofa, and on one toilet on the average day. |

Four. Good old lucky "Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah." Most days anyway. Uh, what's a "dunny?" I'm also assuming that the chairs you listed weren't listed in a daily-order-of-use way because if that were the case, I'd be asking why you go to the bar before class. Wait a minute, it IS in order...
p.s. Maybe you mean "day," meaning the time after midnight. If so, I apologize. |

Dunny is a slang term for toilet used in NZ and Australia. Anyone know if it is used anywhere else?
Quote: |
dunny
A toilet. The dunny was originally any outside toilet. In cities and towns the pan-type dunny was emptied by the dunny man, who came round regularly with his dunny cart. Dunny can now be used for any toilet. The word comes from British dialect dunnekin meaning dung-house. First recorded 1933. |

ZERO
I walk everywhere in this small town and do my teaching prep standing up at my desk (quicker that way, and a lot of movement between the bookcase, desktop and photocopier) and I don't sit down in class.
So, in terms of work and transporation, days like today I don't sit down until just before bedtime, when I'm checking my email and surfing a bit (so, at most ONE time a day). |

Hadn't thought about it much, but I guess my ass gets around.
A normal day when I don't go out at night proceeds in this order:
(AT HOME)
Bed, Toilet, Sofa or Deck Chair, depending on weather (reading the morning paper)
(OUTSIDE OF HOME)
Motorcycle Seat, Office Chair, Motorcycle Seat, Restaurant Chair, Motorcycle Seat, Office Chair, Motorcycle Seat
(AT HOME AGAIN)
Toilet (depending), Armchair, Dining Table Chair, Desk Chair, Sofa (if I watch a movie), Toilet (depending), Bed
And the two favourites, both in the study:
I'm sitting in that black one right now. What do you think about that? |

Itaewonguy - are you from NZ or Oz? If NZ, which part? I'm from NZ and have lived in the North and South Islands, city and country and heard it frequently, especially in the country although I admit bog is much more common. Wonder if I've heard it more because many of my rellies moved to Oz. |

That's an interesting question. One I never considered before. I'd say at least ten times a day I sit down somewhere.
Here's a similar one: How many doors do you open and close on an average day? |
