the fact that the thread that started "dudes dying in iraq" has now digressed to "i make more money than you and i'm going to continue posting about it again and again" makes my BS detector itch like someone rubbed fiberglass all over it.

someone who has been a member for 2 years cheisse, when has a thread ever stayed on topic on daves!

This same line of unreasoning strikes again! Other people are doing it, so it's okay?

You're dreaming. Quote me where I ask you about pay? I knew what EFL teachers made in Korea 15 months ago. I wouldn't go to you for advice if my life depended on it.

Well then, you are obviously a paranoid schizto, and you may want to see a psychiatrist or take your meds more often.

Cheers,

Pat Robertson Warns Pa. Town of Disaster Fri Nov 11, 2:48 AM ET

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson warned residents of a rural Pennsylvania town Thursday that disaster may strike there because they "voted God out of your city" by ousting school board members who favored teaching intelligent design.

All eight Dover, Pa., school board members up for re-election were defeated Tuesday after trying to introduce "intelligent design" — the belief that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by a higher power — as an alternative to the theory of evolution.

"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God. You just rejected him from your city," Robertson said on the Christian Broadcasting Network's "700 Club."

Eight families had sued the district, claiming the policy violates the constitutional separation of church and state. The federal trial concluded days before Tuesday's election, but no ruling has been issued.

Later Thursday, Robertson issued a statement saying he was simply trying to point out that "our spiritual actions have consequences."

"God is tolerant and loving, but we can't keep sticking our finger in his eye forever," Robertson said. "If they have future problems in Dover, I recommend they call on Charles Darwin. Maybe he can help them."

Robertson made headlines this summer when he called on his daily show for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

In October 2003, he suggested that the State Department be blown up with a nuclear device. He has also said that feminism encourages women to "kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."

Billions Wasted In Iraq

Feb. 12, 2006

(CBS) The United States has spent more than a quarter of a trillion dollars during its three years in Iraq, and more than $50 billion of it has gone to private contractors hired to guard bases, drive trucks, feed and shelter the troops and rebuild the country.

It is dangerous work, but much of the $50 billion, which is more than the annual budget of the Department of Homeland Security, has been handed out to companies in Iraq with little or no oversight.

Billions of dollars are unaccounted for, and there are widespread allegations of waste, fraud and war profiteering.

So far only one case, the subject of a civil lawsuit that goes to trial this week, has been unsealed. It involves a company called Custer Battles, and as 60 Minutes correspondent Steve Kroft reports, the lawsuit provides a window into the chaos of those early days in Iraq.

And also don't worry, billions more will also be wasted again.

Request for more funds are underway in Congress if I remember.
