Further confirmation that it's the US standing in the way of reunification. Oh, and the 2002 incident the paper mentions -- that was when the North murdered 4 South Korean sailors. |

Except that it happened on June 29, 2002, nearly four months after the February 2002 of which you speak. They were talking about air violations, not sea violations which happen on a pretty regular basis. |

There was a sea incursion by a collection of fishing boats over the weekend.
First an air violation, then a sea violation...both are probably related to the APEC thing going on down in Pusan. I think the North resents that they are at the top of the agenda. |

I would be highly surprised if planes from our side of the fence did not cross into airspace from time to time and then retreat when confronted, a time-honored way collecting intel about the state of readiness on the other side. We won't hear about those instances, though, only when the Norks do it.
Propaganda is more than just lying, and lying also includes holding back the true extent of the facts ... |

I would be highly surprised if planes from our side of the fence did not cross into airspace from time to time and then retreat when confronted, a time-honored way collecting intel about the state of readiness on the other side. We won't hear about those instances, though, only when the Norks do it.

Yup, the only thing that justifies such double standards is the fact that the North Korean leadership is a rotten dictatorship starving its people, and that the United States of America has done a little better for its people as well as the people of Korea. |

Yes, I can remember one occasion when that happened due to equipment malfunction.
And of course, we might still overfly them with spy planes.

No doubt it happens, but you are missing the significance of the timing. The naval attack that killed the 6 sailors in June '02 did not just happen to happen during the World Cup. This air incursion did not just happen to happen at the beginning of the APEC meeting.
One part of propaganda is distorting information (misinformation), another is withholding information. Another is controlling the timing of information so as to control (or at least influence) discussions. |
