Twisted Evil QUALITY!!!!!!!!! Twisted Evil

Quote:
I started with Daniel Bedingfield went through Dido and some others I've known and came across a gem I'd never heard of before: Honey, by Moby.

Not all "stations" are good fits. I like Celine Dion, so started there, and also Jewel, but after that, the next dozen selections in the chain were NOT of any interest to me

That's probably the worst taste in music I've ever heard of. Celine Dion????? I thought you were a man.

Rolling Eyes Grow up.

She has a great voice. I guess you didn't like the Titanic theme song either. Fine. I love Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Jewel, and Madonna ballads too. So what?

I've recently found out you can kind of train it a bit. If a song comes on that you don't like... click on it and hit "I dont' like it". And then its gone. I was having similar problems until I started doing that. Now that I've groomed or trained my stations a bit its all good. Smile

Good stuff! Thanks!
I use MusicMatch, which I paid for, so I can pick and choose tracks.
But this is grand for me 'cause I'm lazy. And finding lots of stuff I never heard of.

major BUMP! needed fow www.pandora.com

this website is so great

i recently found one of my greatest musical tastes: type in "my immortal" (the song by evanescence that was a grammy nominee this year)

every related song that is played i like a lot (haven't skipped one yet)

this website has made me aware of how many subcategories of music there are, how many different styles and crisscrossing patterns, amazing

find your ideal thread ! threads!

(note: as for the advertising that is "ramped up" over time - it's just in the top right corner! not even intrusive, useful to glance at occasionally because - of course - they are selling albums of artists whose songs are played)

Yeah... the advertising as of yet is very light... and if you minimize the media player there are no adds to be seen.

I still think this is one of the best finds for me of 2005 on the net. I use it like every day... use it when I have parties at my house... people come over and I have them make a station and I get exposed to all kinds of new music. I mean you get 100 different stations for free... I got everything from hip hop, to classic rock... to ambient jazz, to classics like Miles Davis...

Happy New Years all! Smile

I am fairly sure pandora has been set up by at least one major player in the music industry. Such smooth tie-ins with apple and amazon, such minimalist design with very little information about who actually set it up, such a sleek idea, such a huge amount of resources that must've gone into it.

Where is the advertising going to go? At first there was none, now there is just a little - albeit helpful - advertising. Pandora said that they intend to ramp up their advertising: if this ultimately includes advertising on air then, in my humble opinion (imho), it will most definately kill the service - for us and their sponsors.

Given that the lunch of this music-industry service has been with trepidation and seemingly based on word-of-mouth, perhaps it wouldn't be unwise to consider threads such as these as influencers on the development of this truly wonderful development.
