You are hereby informed that you are no longer no longer communist buttlickers.
In fact, debate about the war in Iraq is now declared (with the surgeon general's approval) HEALTHY.
As of now, you no longer HATE America.
To clarify, 3 days ago, critics were heretofore REPREHENSIBLE.
BUT, as of now, debate is HEALTHY.
NOTE: ALL DISCUSSION about why debate was previously UNHEALTHY and at times SEDITIOUS is from now on PROHIBITED.
Carry on. |

I think (but am not certain) that the OP is referring to Bush taking a different slant on critics of his Iraq policy.
From the Chicago Tribune:
Bush cools assault on war critics
President calls for `honest' debate, says foes have right to voice dissent
By Evan Osnos
Tribune foreign correspondent
Published November 21, 2005
BEIJING -- Amid mounting political acrimony, President Bush on Sunday softened the White House's attack on critics of the Iraq war, saying they have "every right to voice their dissent."
On a visit to the Chinese capital, Bush and senior administration officials took pains to emphasize that they welcome "an honest, open debate" with Democrats and others who question the handling of the war. Bush specifically cited Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.), a decorated Vietnam War veteran and longtime armed forces advocate who called last week for the U.S. to withdraw its troops.
Two days earlier, Bush spokesman Scott McClellan had assailed Murtha, saying his idea would only encourage terrorists and likening him to liberal filmmaker Michael Moore. Bush on Sunday praised Murtha as "a fine man, a good man, who served our country with honor and distinction."
"I know the decision to call for an immediate withdrawal of our troops by Congressman Murtha was done in a careful and thoughtful way," Bush said in Beijing. "I disagree with his position."

I think it means he read the polls and finally realized that calling more than half the population of the country traitors was not going to play well in Peoria.
I think he should take a page out of that French politician's book. You know, the one who saw the crowd rush past and said, "Where are they going? I must find out, for I must lead them." |
