Looking for cheapest return flights from London to Seoul. Is there anything better than *shudder* Lufthansa? |

I'm flying to Manchester on the 21st and Emirates via Dubai was the cheapest.
Not cheap, but the cheapest. You can also try the Korean Air direct to Heathrow, Korean Air / Air France via Paris, or KLM via Schipol |

What's wrong with Lufthansa? We've flown with them numerous times and they have always been very good.
There is a Korean town in South of London... New Malden I think is the name. There are a couple of travel agents there that do good deals for London to Seoul via Korean Air. Something like £499 + tax, which is a good deal considering it's direct.
Otherwise, you can try http://www.airline-network.co.uk/. They always seem to do a pretty good deal. |

direct flight will never be cheaper...
you will need to fly via another country..
UAE sometimes have specials try them.,.
but in my experience thai airways are always cheaper..
incheon, bkk, london return..
now of course you need to get the best travel agent!
roughly the price will be around 750-800.000 I guess.. |

I seriously doubt it- like I said I'm going ICN->Dubai->Manchester return: Total cost £834.30, about 1.6 million won. |

I can't be arsed to spend ages but a quick look at TZ's site above throws up Turkish Air at 486 GBP (866,000 KRW) London-Seoul return.
Thai comes up with
Fare Tax British Pound
1184.00 + 146.30 x 1 Adult = 1330.30
Total fare 1330.30 = 2,370,000 KRW
And in reverse ...
Itinerary pricing
Fare Tax South Korean Won
2880100.00 + 299300.00 x 1 Adult = 3179400.00
Total fare 3179400.00 = 1,784 GBP
Last day to ticket: Friday, November 25, 2005
Sheeee, getting expensive ... |

Doesn't it take ages to go via the Middle East?
To the OP, are you looking for a restricted ticket or semi-/fully-flexible? |

the flight to Dubai and out again doesn't take much longer than changing in Europe |

And it's probably better transferring in Dubai than Heathrow, huh? |

I'm going to be transferring in Heathrow in Jan for the first time ever (long story... very long story) which I'm so, SO looking forward to.
*grin*
I've found travelocity is good for finding cheap flight deals. |

I was absolutely gobsmacked at what a nightmare transferring at Heathrow was.
Normally when people say "It was a nightmare" when they talk about stuff like this it's because they didn't get a free upgrade and the drinks cart had ran out of club soda- but transferring at Heathrow involves collecting your bags and then walking for, I would genuinely estimate, over a mile, using a few of the slowest, most crowded lifts I have ever seen, and working out where to go in areas with signage that seems designed to fool nazi spies.
I got to go in the BA business class lounge though. Mmmm BA. |

Well, I'll be picking my baggage up from left luggage at LHR mid-transfer (REALLY, don't ask) so hopefully it won't be that bad. Plus, I do know my way around. I know the place is huge, though.
I'll be in the BA First lounge (dahling). I've never tried it in T4 actually - the one in T1 is a little small. |

is T4 the domestic one?
The first lounge must be spectacular if so because the business lounge has a fully stocked bar, showers, loads of newspapers and magazines, internet access, TVs, room galore, food (ish, good sandwiches and nibbles anyway).
When they announced that my connecting flight was delayed by an hour I went "Yessssss!!!" |

T4 is the mainly-BA-longhaul one (well, it used to be - they swapped some flights between T1 and T4 last year to make connections easier, so they said).
The first lounge in T1 is a lot quieter (and smaller). The quality of the alcohol is considerably better - Tanqueray No. 10, mmmm. And there's hot food available - and then there's the spa of course... |
