Interesting. I didn't know there was so much poetry dedicated to being awake at night.
My mom always called me a night owl growing up. Even when I was seven and eight years old, I'd be awake well past midnight, just lying there "daydreaming" and wishing I could play.
Thing is, I'm a morning person, too. Fortunately, I'm good to go on about 5 hours of sleep a night, even 3-4 if I have the weekends to sleep in. They say you can't catch up on sleep. I've found that to be untrue.

I'm a night person. I function 100 times better after the sun goes down. I think clearly as well.
In the morning, I feel groggy, unresponsive, etc. But no matter how tired I might feel during the daytime, I suddenly wake up and feel great as soon as the sun goes down. |

I must be related to Qinella. My prefered time is morning, the earlier the better. But if I'm up past my regular bedtime I get a second wind and can go all night. |
