We did both at some point.
I think it's easier to just change money in Korea - KEB seems to have stopped charging any admin fee for exchanging money, so that's a good deal!
We once went to a bank in China to exchange some money from USD to Yuan and a guy came up to us, IN THE BANK!, asking us if we wanted to change money with him!!!! His rate was like a dollar better than the bank rate, so needless to say, we agreed. It was, however, illegal (still is) and we were just so shocked that no one cared!! |
