| Has anyone had their teeth whitened here? And if you have, what did it cost? |

| Yeah, I did it in 2002. I went to an expensive clinic listed in the Korea Times. The place was very upmarket and around City Hall. It cost about $1000. The mold for my teeth was a couple of hundred. Then the laser light. Then I had to keep buying the bleach gel stuff. I wasn't allowed to eat any food with colour for about two weeks. Being a smoker and a coffee drinker, I need it done again. But this time around all my dental work will be done in Bangkok. |

| Clarin strips are sold at emart, lotte mart, carrefor for around 36.000, and whitening toothpaste is around 4.000. Yes they are less effective then dentist whitening, but they are much less expensive and do work. |

How do those strips work? Do you have to leave them in over night?
I tried home whitening before back home with these gum shields you had to leav in over night and they weren't very comfortable.... better than yellow teeth though! |

I can second that one. Blew my mind when I heard the price. My mother is sending some of the whitening strips but on my next trip to Thailand of Philippines I will be getting it done there.
600.000 is a joke. |

I used to work with two women in the US who had really, really white teeth, both in their 40s. I asked how they did it, and they said they used Crest Whitening Strips. I'm pretty sure I've seen them sold in Korea, or at least something similar.
What you do is just put the strips on your teeth and leave them there for about 30 minutes. I tried them, but since I have ultra sensitive gums and teeth, the bleach was just too painful for me. I'd have massive headaches and writhe in pain for a good 4-5 hours after using them, so I had to quit. But if you can handle them, that's the way to go, I think. |

| Currently, I am using the clarin toothpaste and 7 day strips. Wow, they do work. My teeth were gold from tea and smokes, but seriously after about 5 days, they are getting really white. Its cool. It does make your teeth senstitive though... |

My husband and I just finished using the Crest whitening strips. My Mom sent them from Canada. I think each box was around $40.00 at Shoppers Drug Mart. You have to wear a strip on the top and bottom of your teeth for thirty minutes for two weeks. The strips didn't hurt but made my gums a little sensitive. Anyway I thought they worked really well. I noticed a difference in four days. I wouldn't pay to have them done at the dentist because I think these white strips work almost as well. I haven't seen them in Korea but it is easy just to have someone send them over.

| Again, they are here. They are called Clarin, check your emart, carrefour, lotte mart or whatever you have handy. They are in the toothpaste section. |

I used to work in the dental field as a technician. The staining from smoking and coffee is not permanent and can be taken care of by visiting your dental hygienist. Some of the strips mentioned use peroxide and can compromise the enamel of your teeth. There are some products being used by dentists that are better (this was about 10 years ago, so please keep that in consideration).

You are correct. The ceramics your crowns are made from will not change with any whitening formulae.
I never liked really white teeth. Looked too much like dentures to me. |

| Anyone else had an experience? I'm thinking about getting mine whitened in the next couple of weeks--should be around 400,000won. I've tried the gels and such, but didn't notice any improvements. |
