there are a few phohoas in seoul. There is one in Sillim-Dong as well (don't know the exact adress, its across the street from Lotte Dept. Store).

g/friend's apt. is about 5-10 minute walk away, that's how i know about it. I've only been there once, it was ok. You're right, for noodles, its freaking expensive. I should have tried the side dishes when i was there.

Ever been to the movie theatre in the same building? Pretty ghetto. Went to see Finding Nemo there a couple Saturdays ago and they had some problem with the speakers, wasn't pleasant. Think i'll stick with the CGV-type theatres...

Fiddler's Green is by the Wonju Airport. It's got great Steaks and makes a killer pork chop. It's a bit of a drive from the city, but worth the trip, plus everything on the menu is under 20,000 won.

When you go to Hong Kong or Tokyo or New York you find Vietnamese and Thai restaurants that are owned and operated by the people from those countries with chefs from those countries cooking fast cheap meals.

Korea is always a let down like that...you end up with a Korean chef and no atmosphere. Howbout a little viet town with some real food, couple of rows of restaurants, cheap food, and some vietnamese language..so on..where is the damn city in the city of seoul?

its actually Vietnamese.. very Vietnamese.. which is actually very great.. but unfortunately, this restaurant has pretty bad PHO and very over-priced.. although that being said, its still nice to have spring rolls, peanut sauce, and this and that.. and very ALOT of money you can order the thin rice paper where you play your fish sauce and meat and other stuff).. much like bulgogi, but instead of pepper paste its fish sauce, and instead of lettuce leaves its rice paper.. however, i haven't had that yet at this fast food place.. only the other vietnamese restaurants.

Also, this chain vietnamese restaurant in Seoul is actually a California Vietnamese chain.. based out of California.. no idea how they got their franchise in here though..
