|
|
I am in Tokyo on my planned Christmas vacation. My dad died. I have a round trip ticket back to Korea Jan. 7 I would like to buy a second ticket and fly to the States to be with family, then return to Tokyo before Jan. 7, using my existing roundtrip ticket to re-enter Korea.
Anything I need to know or be anxious about with re-entering Korea? Will I be hassled for going to another country before returning to Korea?
I have an E-7 Visa with a multiple re-entry permit. But departing Korea last Saturday it took a good three minutes to convince the ticketing lady that the "M" on my Visa stood for "Multiple re-entry" Had to call a supervisor and everything.
Thanks! |

The ticketing lady may've been new, or may not have known that policies on multiple entry visas differ between countries.
You should be fine. |

No reason for immigration to care where you go when youre out of country. Dont give it another thought.
Sorry about your dad. |

Seconded and seconded.
Immigration only cares that you're legal on your arrival. The card (that you fill out upon arrival) asks for countries visited before arrival (for disease/political issues I presume) and which flight you arrived on...not your plane ticket(s).
You'll be fine. I was.
Again, sorry about your loss.

As someone whos father just underwent heart tests for possible problems, I am very sorry for your loss. It upset me enough just to think about it. |

And for statistical reasons, too.
Sorry about your dad (again), Nick. |
