try around the bus terminal. There are a ton of yogwans. Prices will be higher over christmas. They always are but you should be able to get something for less than 80,000 won/night. Look for a newer place and you'll get big rooms with all the extras and a whirlpool bath. |

I would recommend going out to Lake Bomun. Hotels at this time of year should be cheap. I stayed in one in early summer and it was 50k. New motels, not hotels, are good. Cheaper than hotels and with really good stuff in the rooms, e.g big bath and a huge tv. |

It's been several years since I've been there but I used to stay at Mr Kwon's Hanjin Hostel (I think it was called). It is as close to a backpackers as you'll find in Korea and a great place to stay, cheap too. Close to the bus station. |
