This morning on KBS news I caught film footage of a huge, violent brawl
in the Korean legislature between opposing political parties who were
arguing over Korean troops in Iraq. Apparently, these saloon-like brawls
occur quite often. If the American military had no presence in Korea, there
would possibly be another civil war starting here in the South divding the
peninsula into a tripartite state: North, Central, and South, pretty good
divisions for a Korean Soccer League.  |

Talked to some guys here that finished their mil stint and most of the ROK soldiers in Iraq wanted to go. They picked the best of the best for the tour. |

This is the problem with the more collectivist cultures: at what point could any self-respecting ROK soldier say otherwise? Those not in yet, or past their service, sure, but an active duty ROKie? Can't see it happening...
I'm not really undermining your point, it jsut made this thougt pop in my mind. |
