This is no problem if the 12 year old boys are going to marry their grandmothers.

What would be far more interesting is an age breakdown. The kids under 20 down have far more boys due to aborting girls and the older male population was fighting age during the war.

It said at the end of the article that they'll be releasing a more detailed demographic assessment in May.

I still think the one thing that's going to really tip the balance for re-unification is when these "hey, let's all abort our female babies! that's logical and shows what amazing foresight Koreans have!" generations enter their adulthood. What do you do when 15% of South Korean males have no genetically pure Korean women? Open up immigration? Sanction marriage to foreign women? Ha. And the few South Korean women around know their value and are going to demand more. "Spending all night drinking with hookers? I don't think so!"

No. They'll throw open the border to millions of poor, starving North Korean women who will be damn happy to marry a grunting, goober horking, helpless mama's boy masking as the prime of South Korean manhood because he's got heat in the winter and food in the fridge.

This is already happening. Many farmers have married foreign women.

This is also already happening. The divorce rate is as high as in the US--a good deal of it the result of women not putting up with the traditional rules and expectations.

Because they are already familiar with the 'equipment'? Laughing

(Actually, my fingers got carried away and added an 'ir' that I didn't intend.)

She's right, though. "Grunting, goober horking, helpless mama's boy"'s will look like paradise compared to starvation and repression up north. This will be one of the unsaid factors of reunification. "South Korean women are too strong-willed. <Grunt, spit, hork> We need docile women to do what we say. <Spit, urinate>"

Hmmmm....I wonder....could it be....all this mollycoddling of number one sons is starting bite Korea in the ass. Or will they just look the other way while their other children work their asses off for their parents and their older brothers? Maybe this is why Korean parents usually have one or two kids.
