my other laptop won't read CDs from this one anymore... it used to work fine and then it quit... i get an error saying that the volume is corrupt or unformatted...

wtf?

If it's not a hardware error, my only suggestion would be to change disc brands. Sometimes the same company will change their stock and just slap their label on the discs. Otherwise, have you been writing with a new burner program, or adjusted the settings somehow?

I have an older DVD drive that often won't read gold-colored DVDs. Don't ask me why.

its the same bindle and the same program. its possible that i changed the settings somehow but i don't know how... CDRs i burned and played last week won't work now ? i did install "Hammerhead" and copied over a few .dll's for "Audiomulch" but that's it...
