How about Osaka? Do you have plans for that city?

I made a mistake and spent two of most boring nights of my Japanese visit in Kyoto. What a mistake. Its a great city to visit during the daylight hours.. but no so good at all at nighttime.

Try to stay in Osaka if you can. There is a 'little America' part of the city near the Korean Embassy.. that would be fun to spend a night there. Tons of bars, clubs, restaurants, activities, etc.

I counted wrong! I have one fewer day than I thought I did, so it looks like this trip will be basically Tokyo-only. Sad
Does anybody know if it's easy to change the date of a Busan-Fukuoka ferry ticket? I'll ask at the counter when I get to Busan... I might want to extend the return trip a day or two.

Or I guess I can enjoy a couple extra days vacation in Busan before coming home to Seoul.

I would imagne it woldn't be too diffcult but change it now and not at the terminal as i would imagine closer to the date...a lot more difficult it does become

FYI, i was able to change the ferry time to japan on the very morning of my ticket. I was scheduled for the 2:15 ferry but got there at opening time and got a seat on the 8:45am. I bet Sunday morning ferries are less often full. I'm in Tokyo now and still trying to decide if I should extend my stay another day by changing the return ferry.

I spent the first night in Hiroshima. A nice medium sized city with a good youth hostel and a nice compact downtown area. I highly recommend it!

Pictures from my Japan trip are here:

My conclusion: Japan isn't so bad in winter... especially not in Kyushu and southern Honshu. It was certainly warmer than Korea... even at night in Fukuoka I was walking around in relative comfort, but I was freezing the next morning in Busan. Freezing!
