I don't want to pay the prices....window shopping is fine.
--Sorry, I was just joking. I tried talking to a couple of models (i think) when their guide (owner) came over and basically told me to P1ss off. |

I'm not saying all Russian girls are the same, but my impression of them is that many of them who are here in Korea are here because they are desperate to get out of Russia and to try to make some money. (Why else would they be here?) And if they're that desperate that they come to Korea and live here, there's a strong possibility that they are looking for a ticket to greener pastures.

My brother-in-law's friend met this young lady while on business in Russia. She quickly got pregnant, so he brought her back to Korea. They are now married. I couldn't help but laugh when my wife told me the story.

You'd be surprised how many women from Russia and former Soviet republics, some of them pretty, have married Korean men. And this despite immigration's crackdown on Russian entertainers coming to work in Korea and the like.
One Russian girl told me she found Korean men more warm than Russian men, and I've heard from other sources just how cold Russian men can be. Oh well. |

| Here's a tip if you happen to get a date-- if you bring flowers, DO NOT bring 12 of them. Trust me. Stick with an odd number, and you'll be fine. |

The ROK government has unspoken (and essentially racist) policies of actively discouraging Russian/CIS/FSU citizrns from entering the ROK in the first place - even as tourists.
If you are a Russian passport holder, overcoming language barriers, finding a Korean employer and obtaining ROK work visa papers (lawfully) is an almost impossible proposition.
Many Russian women are hired on the "Industrial Trainee" visa, move to a ghetto like the street in Gwanghui-dong (spelling?) and get effectively blackmailed into being prostitutes.
Thus I would argue, as a generalization, sleeping with a Russian woman IN SOUTH KOREA is generally not something that should be celebrated on this list - for the sheer amount of hardship they have endured to get here. |

I've been engaged to a couple of Ukrainians (no, not at the same time, and each was a third-generation Canadian).
Does that count?
They were beauties (a bit short, yet shapely rather than stocky - though their grannies looked like ajumma). |

Most women like to "marry up."

On a friendly day, I merrily walked into my supermarket to get some coffee. For the first time ever, I noticed two hot weigkookin girls sitting right in front of the supermarket. They were hot in a way that I haven't found girls hot for maybe a few months... piercings, skinny, blonde, tatoos, kind of non-english-teachery-looking. How odd, I thought. Might as well go and talk to them. So, I went up to them and said, "Hey, how's it going? Do you live in this area?"
The two just looked at eachother, confusedly, and then said, "Roooshian."
"Ahhhh, Rooooshian" I said. And walked away. Never seen them again. Guess they were prostitutes? |

I've met a few Russian girls- they're really nice. The girls I met were on entertainment visas- sponsored by modelling agencies. The girl I got to know is married to a Korean guy (she's on the home shopping channel, btw- does an ad for an ab machine). She's from Vladivostok, and she said there is absolutely no work there. Used to be a lot of weapons manufacturing, but after the collapse of the Soviet Union, there is no work-all the factories have closed down. She told me that her friend is a teacher back in Russia, and makes maybe $100/month. Her friend had to a marry (a fellow Russian) purely for economic reasons.
Anyway, a lot of them hook up with Korean guys. A lot of them speak Korean, but not much English. I think this is one of the reasons they hook up with Korean guys. However, I've heard of some pretty bad marriages- the girls aren't well-respected by either their mates or their in-laws.
if you're looking to meet Russian girls, I recommend Rio in Itaewon.^^ |

Have met a good number of Russians in Pusan, Rio Bar and in Israel. Having got to know some well, I wonder why we had that long cold war with them. 100% decent folk. Their culture is very similar to ours (compared to Koreans say) and most of the Russians I got to know well had great English, I guess that might be because not much conversation got going with those with little English. And as many of as have noticed, they are just about the best looking White-girls on the ROK. Too the OP, if your interested in meeting a Russian woman, go for it. I think they are great people. As for all the prostitute comments, sure many Russian ladies have gotten into hooking, heck I might too if the best teaching job I could find paid 100 dollars a month. And, that just might be an easier way to get to know a girl (ie paying for a bit of her time) than the difficulty of walking up to a girl out-of-the-blue on the street. Obviously not every Russian thinks the same, but the ones I spent time with in Pusan never stopped trash-talking Koreans and Korean men, but maybe I was leading the conversation that way.
EDIT: And another big plus, she can teach you how to say: "I don't speak English." That's awsome for the bus when y're not in a chatty mood.
