Good lord and I thought the "Christian" schools were fruity. Any hagwon that pretends to be anything more than a business ("we educate christians!" "we educate people to be self actualized air breathers who don't need to eat the meat of slaughtered animals!") will eventually turn that philosophy on you to:

a) compel you to do more work for less pay

b) not pay you at all

What would Jesus do? Would Jesus demand to be paid on time, monthly and have his tax deducted by the legal amount? How can you be a fully actualized human being if you're so petty as to demand being paid. On time.

Anyone know anyone who's worked there or anything. I have'nt seen a contract but here's the info i got so far...

1. Name of the School : BR English School

(Number of current foreign teacher : 2 )
4. Type of Students : Elementary to Middle school students.
5. Working time a day : 2;00pm - 8:30pm
--(Maximum 30 hours a week)

7. Payment : 2.0 million won per a month for max 30 hours a week
--(and you will get paid one month salary more as bonus at the end of
contract period. the contract is for one year and it can be renewed. )
8. Over time pay : 18,000 won / hour

10. Type of Housing : Furnished Single Apt. ( 10min walking time)
11. Paid vacation : 10 days

Well, what do you know! Korean children now have the opportunity to find
the truth within themselves while learning English. Deep breathing drills in
pronunciation exercises must be part of the programme. Perhaps a sound
regiment of mental discipline will curb the youngsters' emotional urges and
curtail rumbunctious outbursts in class.

Let me guess - they need you right away, and won't give you a visa, but they promise to fly you to Japan ASAP. Don't believe it!!

In truth, it's not all that wacky - just some exercises and meditation like stuff at the beginning of class. All the lessons are planned, and there are lots of flashcards, CDs, and graded readers included.

On the other hand, being asked to teach illegally and strung along are definite minuses. I'd recommend passing.

My guess is that OJT refers to "on the job training".

But that is , of course, logical, and this is Korea...........

Just been offered an interview with the Busan Branch of BR English School...

The Brain Respiration site in English isn't any use whatsoever really, its to do with the US branches from what I've read and the locations...

The one which corresponds to the Korean schools is
