Voter eligibility criteria

* You are a member of the Canadian Forces. Instead, click here.
How to get your special ballot
Complete the registration form included with this guide and attach photocopies of proof of your identity (see examples for resident Canadians, or for non-resident Canadians). Return the form and supporting documentation to Elections Canada, using the quickest possible delivery method.
It's up to you!
It's your responsibility to send in your registration form and then your ballot on time. The registration form must reach Elections Canada in Ottawa by 6:00 p.m. on January 17, 2006, the Tuesday before polling day. The earlier you send it, the better. You can also deliver it in person by the same deadline to the office of the returning officer in any electoral district.
Your registration will be promptly processed, but you must allow enough time for a special ballot voting kit to reach you and for your ballot to travel back to Ottawa. The completed ballot must arrive at Elections Canada by 6:00 p.m., Ottawa time, on polling day, January 23, 2006. By law, late ballots cannot be counted.
