They opened a Starbucks at Technomart. A grand idea. The closest was either at Konkguk university or Jamsil. But it didn't stay open for long. There's a sign on it saying "closed for renovations. Open in a few days". The sign has been there since October. Hrm.
Anyone know what happened? |

Of all of the places in TM, it sure is in a bad location. You could almost miss it. The location just doesn't feel right. The flow of people traffic is not in the usual line-of-sight, and it can be easily missed.
Great idea for somewhere else in TM. Even still, I am sure TM charges a whopper for that location. |

The bad location did not seem to doom it. The couple times I tried to have a coffee there, when it was actually open, it was packed with people. It is impossible to see, granted, if you're coming from the subway. |

might come down to who owns the building in technomart
samsung owns starbucks korea, so maybe that has something to do with it
maybe they were charged ridiculous rents like they were in myongdong
and they are moving! |

The Starbucks wasn't open long enough for a jacked up rent situation. The Myeong Dong location has come to the end of its 5 year lease and when it came time to renegotiate the landlord doubled the rent. |
