Can anyone give me some advice on where to buy a nice painting in Thailand? I am looking for something that represents Thai art and is professional. |

In Pattaya, very close to the walking street, are a couple of shops that do darn fine replica painting. That is, you bring in a picture of a painting you want, or even a photo of a loved one, and they'll paint it for you. Your very own Mona Lisa.
This is all I know. Don't ask me about prices, or how long it takes, or what represents "Thai art", or copyright infringement. But I do know where Pattaya is. You can ask me that. |

heya bro
My wife scored us a very sweet oil painting of "A thailand street". The colors are phenominal and it came from the tourist trap, kohsan road! i think she scored it for around 40-60nz dollars. Or you could try the weekend market in bangkok. you can spend days wandering round that, and they are more willing to bargain thtere. Don't worry, you are sure to find something. |

In Phuket-

Original works of art can be found at the galleries/workshops of local and expat artists, including the Nakonnai Gallery in Karon Plaza, Rinda Studio in Rawai (near The Evason Phuket Resort), and the Sarasil Art Gallery on Phang Nga Rd in Phuket City. |
I have not been there, but it looks promising.
