"Bush Advisor Says President Has Legal Power to Torture Children"

By Philip Watts

01/08/06 "revcom.us" -- -- John Yoo publicly argued there is no law that could prevent the President from ordering the torture of a child of a suspect in custody – including by crushing that childs *beep*.

Cassel: If the President deems that hes got to torture somebody, including by crushing the *beep* of the persons child, there is no law that can stop him?
Yoo: No treaty.
Cassel: Also no law by Congress. That is what you wrote in the August 2002 memo.
Yoo: I think it depends on why the President thinks he needs to do that.

Yoo said, "If you are trying to draw a moral equivalence between the Nazis and what the United States is trying to do in defending themselves against Al Qauueda and the 9/11 attacks, I fully reject that. Second, if youre trying to equate the Bush Administration to Nazi officials who committed atrocities in the holocaust, I completely reject that tooI think to equate Nazi Germany to the Bush Administration is irresponsible."

A bit misleading.

First off John Yoo(who is a ethnic South Korean by the way)* is not a Bush advisor. He worked for Ashcroft. Nor is he working (now) for the Bush adminstration.

Nor is there any indication that Bush saw such memos or took such actions. Because one guy says something silly (which for we all we know may be the opposite stance of Bush) Bush is automatically guilty?

Yoo is an idiot who said something silly. I highly doubt President Bush (or ANY American president) would ever do something like that or even consider it as a possibility).

*I included the ethnicity since that is relevant for obvious reasons Laughing

Notice how Yoo said comparing the Bush Administration to the Nazis was irresponsible, but not inaccurate. Confused

BTW the swear filter in its wisdom has decided to bleep out the url for the image. Thaks swear filter. *beep*.com. At least I wasn't robbed of innocence through the viewing of an expletive, thank God for that.

Edit: bitchesgetstitches.com?! That's the worst site name ever. I take it back; I wish I had never seen it.

btw - How knowledgeable are you of the Bush / Nazi history? If not, i highly recommend you work at digging into this one a little deeper.
