My money is on this guy being transferred to another area, and teaching again within days.

That is absolutley shocking. If I was that boys father I'd do a lot more than pinch the guys gochu! What's with a fine for a revolting act like that? He should be thrown out of the teaching profession permanently.

How any 'teacher could think that this is a good idea is beyond me.

taking a feel of a kids gochu used to be right common in Korea.

it is passe now, but the older generation still does it time to time.

Not in a way meant to belittle the child in front of his peers.

There is no cultural precedence for calling this proper behavior -- not that you were calling it that.
