I tweaked something on XP-Control Panel-Advanced this weekend and it worked really well. I thought I was keeping up on this stuff but I missed this one and too bad, my PC went twice as fast. Pick "best for performance" on the menu and your PC will scream. |

LOL...yah I do this with my work computer cause it doesn't have much memory. It disables all of the visual themes and effects. Basically it will look like Windows 98, but it will be much faster if you have low memory. I don't suggest it if your computer has 512+MB memory, though. Windows XP is much prettier IMHO. |

My solution works better: get 1 gig of RAM and overclock your CPU by 30%. |
