If you need a short term place in Bangkok I recommend Novel Place...

http://www.novelplace.com/about.htm

I stayed there for a month and it was great.

Nice pool on the roof.
Nice neighborhood
Nice gym. (Small gym but new weights)
Good price.

Does look good but how long does it take on the skytrain to get to say Siam Square.

Good price.

You paid $ 345 U.S. for a month? That's not an especially "good price" for Bangkok.

But I see the one-night rate is cheap, so a really short term stay of a couple of nights would be worth it there.

It's a very good monthly price for a decent hotel. The cheap places are funky "guest houses" - some of which are good - but not usually as well-equipped or secure...

11 minutes by Skytrain from Siam Square. 30 baht
4 minute scooter ride into the neighborhood. 12 baht
Having a relaxing place to chill with your honey. Priceless.

Do you know of any other place that is better for a 1 week stay? I'm heading to BKK this weekend and if you know of a better place maybe I'll stay there.

I'll be taking a class near Phrom Phong. Are there any good places near there?

If $ 345 U.S. a month is a good price for Bangkok then it must be relative to quality. I guess the gym and pool might make it worthwhile.

10 bucks a day is outstanding I think.

Pretty much your only other options on that budget are shmeggy Banglamphu and the quality over there paying that even is very very low still....expect to kill a couple of cockroaches a day.

Hey Hammer, I still can't get any bearings on where the place is. Do you know the name of the skytrain stop...???

If you click on the map link you can see it, but it's mainly in Thai language. It appears to be between the Sanam and Ari stations (on the BTS Sky Train...)

Get off at Ari station.
Jump on a scooter and say, "Novel" through your nasal cavity.
