hey there everyone...

for those of you living and working in Seoul, i am just wondering what the gym situation is like over there? i will hopefully be teaching there later this year and am hoping there are plenty of gyms there... any other information such as cost etc would be mush appreciated Very Happy

Plenty of gyms, you won't have a problem there. I would just avoid those that make you wear their own clothes, however convenient it is.........

They can be a little pricey so take a Korean to negotiate a contract. Shop around. Lots of cheap exercise equipment also available if you want to shake your booty at home....

Thanks heaps for the tips guys!!! appreciate it lots... a man cant have his body going all saggy just beacause he is overseas... plus after a days teaching a trip to the gym is very refreshing.. it keeps you sane!

Costs:

Anywhere from 40,000 won a month to around 150,000 won per month, depending on the area you live in and how nice the gym is.

I have much more respect for the board's original Lloyd Christmas, who- pretending to be a kyopo who was looking to beat up his alter ego in front of his friend's bookstore- at least knew how to spell "Lloyd".

You said it so much better than I ever could P.R.!!!!! I am no fashionista BUT I prefer to look and feel how I chose to NOT how some institution wishes.......hospitals? maybe I'll wear one of their airy gowns but if I'm working out, I'll wear my own freedom loving, non commie outfit.....
