Free Bible? I remember I was required to get a Bible for one of my classes in college. I took one from a hotel... I think the Gideons secretly want people to do that.

Do people pay for bibles....????????? Ive seen them in bookstores but I thought all you had to do was visit a church or steal one from a hotel room. I don't mean steal -- atleast aren't they there to be taken? I always thought so and that's how I get mine...

PS. please don't turn me in if it indeed is a crime....Smile God knows I don't need any more trouble in my life...

Since it's going to fall on deaf ears, read Ecclesiastes. Everybody likes that one.

The bible is a truly useful book. The thin parchment like pages make excellent fire starting material. They also double nicely as toilet paper....just make sure you use two pages at a time Wink

Is that the one where they say that you must steal 10 souls in order to get into Heaven?

No, it's the one that says:

Quote:
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Well, unless he is on the Moon then it won't be too hard. Look for the big crosses? Rolling Eyes

Mm yeah, keep Ecclesiastes. Don't worry, it's Old Testament. Even the Skeptic's Annotated Bible thinks it's the best:

Quote:
14 The wise have eyes in their head,
but fools walk in darkness.
Yet I perceived that the same fate befalls all of them. 15 Then I said to myself, "What happens to the fool will happen to me also; why then have I been so very wise?" And I said to myself that this also is vanity. 16 For there is no enduring remembrance of the wise or of fools, seeing that in the days to come all will have been long forgotten. How can the wise die just like fools? 17 So I hated life, because what is done under the sun was grievous to me; for all is vanity and a chasing after wind.

In a related vein here's something else that could be free (note: NOT Ecclesiastes anymore):

Quote:
If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.
