| Hi! Newbie coming to Korea and trying to find out if the E2 is multi-entry. I did my search but nothing came up. |

| No it isn't. You can get a single re-entry VISA for 35,000won and a multiple re-entry VISA for 55,000won. There's the skinny |

I believe that Americans instantly get multi-entry visas. But when you come to Korea, you will have to stop at immigration.
If you are not an American, tell the immigration office that you want a multiple entry visa rather than a single entry. Instead of charging you 35,000, you'll get charged 50,000. |

What the hell are you talking about?
If I want to leave this country I have to get a re-entry visa. A single one is for one re-entry, multiple is for multiple re-entry. The multiple lasts for one year. The single there is a time period you must use it by.

| Depends on where you're from. I think Brits get the multi enntry permit free, but they have to ask for it, and Americans get it automatically when they get the visa the first time, but not if they renew. |

| Thanks for your replies. I was wondering whether it was like the Chinese Z visa (working visa), which automatically allows you to come and go, as it includes the residency permit. I'm applying from Australia. Guess I'll give the Korean embassy a call and hope I reach a real person and not just all the recorded messages! |

I'm going to post the info in case anyone else has the same query.
The E2 is single entry, but when leaving the country the Korean customs will issue a re-entry permit at the airport.  |

Sorry...I thought that when an American applies (goes to Japan for a visa run or applies from home), they are instantly given a multiple entry visa. I went travelling with an American, and that's what they told me. But by the looks of it, I am wrong. Sorry  |

It is interesting catweasle tried to sound like an expert when posting this information which is not accurate. My visa clearly has a M marked under entries and I did not have to ask. Like Sofa_King said, Americans get issued a multiple entry visa. As for Canadian, Brits, Irish, and Aussies I don't know. |
