That's so weird, because I was just finishing up a croissant and a cup of Earl Grey Tea! Wow, looks like we both ate, hey!?

I'm glad to hear that you three have eaten breakfast. I hope that you all also have a delicious lunch. Eat well. |

I, for one, would like to submit my heartiest wishes that everyone is snacking regularly and deliciously. Consume, possums!

Thank you Zyzyfer. The lunching hour is upon us. Mani mogo, all. Be sure you suck every last bit of gristle and fat from your chicken leg, and slurp loudly and smack heartily as you do so. |

For a society obsesed with food there seems to be a lot of people who don't have breakfast. I know a lot of people don't have breakfast back home, but have you ever asked you students what do they have for breakfast. there are always a few students who don't. Last year I had one girl say she just ate one meal a day so she doesn't get fat. She was only 12 years old. |

Given that in fairly recent history Koreans had food shortage and even now rather than asking someone "how are you" they will ask "have you eaten"? and are constantly pushing you to eat more, why are they then as a society SO obsessed with diets and weight loss (not health, just weight loss for its sake) and those stupid jiggly belt machines on the TV all the time? |
I read in a recent Korea times article (I believe it was one of 'The Dawn of Modern Korea' windows by Andrei Lankov) that in N. Korea they do not commonly say 'Shiksa hessoyo? or 'Pap mogossoyo?" anymore. presumably this is because of food shortage problems there and they don't want to remind each other about how hungry they are.
In S. Korea, I do agree that it is strange that people push you to eat, but at the same time want to lose weight. I think this is common in many places though. Think of the Jewish mother or Italian mamma (stereotype) who is pushing her kids to eat more and more, but also wants them to be thin and beautiful. Maybe an obsession with food just leads to an obsession with dieting and weight loss everywhere. Maybe they go hand in hand? |

One of the absolute best things to happen in Korea for expats in many years!! Earl Grey! Whoo-hoo! Even Lady Grey for those of you wimps who can't handle the high-octane stuff! |

You said it sister! I did a dance of joy when I saw good ol' Twinnings on the E-Martuh shelf. Although I usually prefer loose tea, tea bags were fine this time - I'm a total addict.

PS - I just ate some Jolly Pong and milk. Is everyone else eating still?

And what's up with all this stuff they call "toast" I see everywhere now? That's not toast, it's a grilled sandwichi. |

Just had a coffee-flavoured Twix. PMS hormones must be answered. It was a little odd tasting. |

Those things kinda rock though. It's like a salad between two slices of bread. Ingenious. |
