That certainly was a fine bit of sleuthing. Can you find mine too?

If he sleuthed a little more he might even find that Gord is fast on his way to becoming the PC Bang king of Western Canada. At this rate, though, that will probably set him back at least 2500 won. Crying or Very sad

You answered your own question. That's why they're cheap. I've been into tons of them though, as a chronic internet addict, and they do vary in quality quite widely, especially some of the things you were mentioning like chairs, I've sat in some primo chairs in PC bangs...

Are you the only person on the Internet that hadn't read the site? I've heard rumours that such a person existed, but thought it was urban folklore used to scare children away from adult sites. Maybe next you can start telling people that ice is just frozen water and we are being deceived.

Yes, quite clearly by reading the site it undeniably is nothing more than me telling the world that I am a minor deity and demand nothing more than love. There might be a couple chapters on sacrifices and worshipping of false idols too, though it's been a while since I wrote it. Anything else we should just make up as we go along?

Dude, you're stealing my thunder! Ah, Christmas is ruined! Someone was suppose to say "then do one better if you think you can" and I follow up with "well, maybe I will" to which the reply of "then do it, punk" where I follow up with a "looks like it is already done, pretty boy" which is then punctuated with two of us engaging in a guitar duet that would bring peace to the world.

There can be no peace in the world now.

Sorry man. I thought about leading you in, but figured someone who didn't already know would be more entertaining for you.

When I think about how good PC rooms could be, done right, it makes me want to cry, and ask why lord, why? Someone please open the ultimate dream PC room in Seoul. And while you're at it, a nice combined, video, DVD, and game rental place that actually has a wide selection - in ordered rows - too.

You could even do like the Japanese do and put showers in it. Then I'd never leave.

I like them but what I really can't stand is the kids. It doesn't even matter if you're in the smoking section. Little Korean kids are horrid, awful creatures and it would be so nice if there were more places free of them. Even much more pleasant middle and high school kids can become suddenly very obnoxious in PC-bangs, as can soldiers. Where I used to live there were a couple PC-bangs that were almost always free of them and I just loved hanging out there. I don't use PC-bangs in my small town because it just isn't high school teacher etiquitte, but I do when I'm in Daegu. Does anyone know of some kid-free PC-bangs there?

Video and music server coupled with a library of games selectabled and playable on every computer in the operation. You can't take it with you, but you can watch/listen to/play it here.

The video thing was more to see if I could do it. I might end up stuffing it full of Korean movies or something and pretend it makes the whole place cool.

Funny you should say that, as my place has a shower. Though it's in the staff washroom and was there from before I moved in.

But you've missed the point.

PC rooms in Korea aren't about PCs at all! What y'all've (yes, it's a real word...it is now) fail to realize is that these rooms were designed STRICTLY as a last refuge for heavy smoking pleasure. Not that Koreans don't smoke anywhere they damn well please anyway, but in a PC bang, they can be enveloped in smoke. Fully surround-sound smoke. In every FIBER OF YOUR BEING. Throw in some cup noodles and and an 815 cola and you've got yourself a modern day opium den. Game. Set. Match.

That's the secret of so called "PC" rooms. Hell, there's nothing PC about PC rooms.

Yeah...Gord has an ego, but to beck it up, he is usually correct on issues he takes up. He is certainly a proactive guy and seems to be hard-working enough to deserve what he has.

To be "schooled by Gord" is an exercise in self-control...wouldn't want to be on the "Grotto end" of an argument with him.

Gord over the top?! Yeah...true to form. Wink I'm more than certain he was chuckling to himself on a couple of issues in the OP.

Back to the post and not the poster...yeah, pc rooms really make me cringe. They have gone way downhill in the last five years and it seems the great proliferation of them has only added to the overall "cheapness".

I loved reading "Acts of Gord"! It was awesome, mostly because I managed a sports retail store for over a year and saw a lot of the same stuff as is on that site! I was just about rolling on the floor for some of it, simply out of remembering that time when that customer in my store...

I don't think it's THAT egotistical, just a great piece of satire.

and PC bangs suck, probably why i used one the first day i was here, then promptly had someone call KT for my internet connection the next day.

Japan net cafes totally kick ass on Korea's, IMO. Cleaner, more private, less noisy, and better services. But its usually the equiv of 2-3000won more per hr. Often have private booths, too, so you don't have to deal with the smoke and noise from others. The only places in Korea for secluded PCs like that are the 6000+/hr ȭ's that have the free porn. And those are still more pricier than the Japanese net cafes. The porn is the difference, obviously. In Japan net cafes you can also pay a smaller rate and read from a massive selection of comics, too. If you know Japanese or like looking at manga. Smile

not that I go to PC rooms. but once in a blue moon I will pop into one becuase I have some time to kill.
the only major I see with PC rooms is the SMOKING!
the place is full of children to come to and play after school. but its always full of REJECT grown men who cant get a job! and all they do is cloud the room full of smoke, these kids are aged from 9years old!! they dont need to be breathing in all that smoke! should be a rule SET!! NO SMOKING!!!
really hope non smoking ban arrives in korea soon!
but I doubt it when the people who pass down the laws are the ones who are addicted to drugs as nicotine!!
