Ok, I think I might actually get to Korea...eventually! Trying to work out the travel for this trip has been a huge frustration, due to the fact that noone I am dealing with seems to have any idea how to get a teacher to Korea. I finally got my flight and they have me going to Japan, from Canada, to get my visa in Tokyo. I fly in there in the evening on teusday, and they have me flying out at supper time on thursday. I want to know if it is at all possible to get the visa in this amount of time. Does anyone have any recent experience with the Tokyo Korean Consulate? From the posts I have read, in Osaka if you pass your stuff in before 11:30am on wednesday, you can have your visa by 2pm on thursday. Is this the same case in Tokyo? From what I've been reading, it looks like I am going to have to get my flight postponed from Tokyo to Seoul, which is going to be really hard to do because I am leaving on monday (today is saturday), and it was hard enough just to get the ticket from the travel agent (they are a Korean travel agency in Canada that works with my school to send teachers over). Anyway, can anyone give me some info?

It is my understanding that tokyo is 5 working days(same as all South korean embassies around the world)...
the only 2 places that will process visas in 2 nights are Fukuoka and Osaka consulates.....
Even if you flew in to Osaka on the time limit you are on it would be impossible to get the visa processed as now you need 2 working days(that invloves 2 sleeps)eg. go in on Wed morning(evening is no good) and pick up Fri afternoon..
basically what your boss has you doing won't happen...
Good luck getting out of this situation....i wisj you all the best |
