It's totally baffling that Advocaat is still experimenting with the shaky 3-4-3 system. If anything he might be trying to compensate Korea's lack of scoring finesse with more firepower. Substitute quality with quantity up front... The best defense is a strong offense... that sort of thing.

For arguments sake, let's just assume that he'll be going 4-4-2 at the World Cup. Which pair would you put up top?

In my mind there are six candidates, each with their own unique styles of play, but all tragically flawed in their inability to finish what the fullbacks/wingers have created.

Ahn Jung Hwan: The man who scored that goal against Italy in 2002. A talisman. Devastating use of the Cruyff-turn and arguably the best dribbler of the bunch.

Seol Ki Hyun: Good with the left foot. Provides good crosses to real strikers, can't finish for jack. Unlucky or inept?

Lee Dong Guk: Seemingly scored the most goals for Korea during the World Cup qualifying campaign but Uzbekistan won't be playing at the World Cup. Good with the right-footed volley though.

Cha Du Ri: Speed, strength and the heritage... all there... except the kid has the ball controlling abilities of a five-year old with CP. Can't head the ball either.

Park Ju Young: The teenage phenom. Effective on the left with the quick give-and-go, especially when YP Lee is making a run. Confident but inexperienced.

Lee Chun Soo: Despite having played for Real Sociedad, perhaps the weakest of the bunch. Compensates for lack of size and strength with doggonit stubborness. Kimchi power?

it's all about the GOOK!

gotta go with the lion king (ldg) and i would play seol as well. have ahn come off the bench as a sub.

ahn and lee didn't do so well together in some of the qualifiers.

im just glad lee has a very good chance at making the team this year, considering in 02 gus left him off the team.

been a fan of lee's since the 2000 asian cup...

He is the MOST talented of the bunch in many ways: ball control, deking, passing, surging up the side, creating corner kick situations, etc, he can look like a world class talent.

But he can't shoot. Not anywhere near the broad side of a barn. I'm utterly amazed at how many times I've seen him make four or five consecutive marvelous moves to create a great scoring opportunity, only to kick the ball away high or wide.

He is a support player, and should not be counted on to finish plays.
