Hello all,

I'm going to grow a mountain man beard, put all of the earings back and wear a sleeveless shirt to show my gorgeous tattoos. Then I'm going to bring my guitar to school and teach the kids some great inspirational songs written and performed by all of those terrible long haired tattood smelly brutes that I love so much.

Yeah you're cool dude. You're teaching KIDS in a foreign country, not jamming with your buddies in the basement of your local dive. Wake up. Try and show some semblance of professionalism if at all possible.

I don't mean to be rude, but try and show some semblance of a sense of humour if at all possible.

I had a beard and managed to get a job in Korea even with it, so I don't understand why it's unprofessional. I guess it matters how the beard looks and what you wear.
I kept mine during the winter and shaved it during the summer, found it too itchy with the heat.

I was informed today that I should cut my beard because in Korea having any sort of facial hair is considered un-professional.

Hmm... How can they say this when the men on their money have beards?
So does American money (beards and long hair), but that argument didn't hold up in the 60s and 70s when "longhairs" were the scourge. But I must say I break several stereotypes that are prominent on this board: I'm older than 35, I have a beard and long hair...and I get along just fine.
