I am planning to import a car, if it is possible. The car will be an old one, not less than 25 years old.

Does anybody know if import duty is payable on a car of such an age, and if so how much?

Of course, there is no point in importing it if I cannot register it and use it on the roads. So if someone has done this or knows whether it is possible, and what is necessary, I'd love to hear about the pitfalls.

yes there will be tax! and it will be 30% of the blue book value
plus there will be emission test and safety test, noise tests, plus there will be tax for duty all up the taxes will be around 5million won!
plus the luxery tax depends on the value of the car!
there is alot of redtape and BS with importing a car..
you had better ring up customs.. took us a week to get all the information we needed.. goodluck..
where are you importing the car from? the shipping will cost you 4-5grand. maybe I will import another car soon, so if its leaving from the states we can split the shipping..
