Suwon.

Friday Nights some folks gathered at the "Pool Bar"
real name: Rock & Roll Hip Hop

in Yeongtongdong. Behind (and to the right of ) Home Plus, take the road up past the red church, bending to the right and cross the big st. to Kyung Hee Univ. Just to the right of the massive Univ. Gates there is a stairway going down on a steep slope. It is across from the batting cages and in the basement. Got going about 1130ish. cheap beer. pool table.

I've been living in Suwon for the last 4 months and haven't found anyplace worth hanging out. Its easier to find a place if you just jump on the subway. Songtan is a 15 minute subway ride. Itaewon and Hongdae are a little over an hour.

If you want to save yourself the 40,000 won hotel cost or the 55,000 won taxi ride back to Suwon, jump in a taxi and tell him to take you to a Jim Jill Bang (Sauna). The taxi will be 5,000 and the sauna fee is 8,000. You'll be sleeping in a common room but there is no check out time.

If you hit gold in Suwon, post the place. You're not the only one in Suwon thinking, "Where's the night life?".

Brian, I am not sure where you come from, but where does it cost you 55,000 won? Itaewon to Suwon has never cost me more the 35,000 won, and Songtan is less than 20,000 won, can't remember the exact price. There are a few good places around Suwon Station to drink. Miller Time is always really busy, sometimes hard to get a seat, but the owner is a really great guy. I am sure there a few other good places near Yeongtong, but i have never bothered to go that far.
